     She didn't see him at first, and when she did, her chest heaved a rasping sigh.
"Can I help you?" She tried to sound brazen but flinched at the shades of danger in his
heavy-lidded eyes. There were no threatening moves yet she felt assaulted by his
intrusion and his scowl.
     He cocked his head to one side. "Maybe."
     His cactus drawl pricked her skin. Beads of sweat cascaded down the center of
her chest. Even if he wasn't dangerous, he was harmfully handsome.
